Irene Beale, a resident of Geneseo, Livingston County, New York, is the author of the novel Eliza. Irene is a wonderful friend, and a gifted author. She has been a member of Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace for over 25 years.

Eliza is creatively written and carefully researched. The novel provides a wealth of historical information about life in Upstate New York during the 19th century. Eliza also offers inspiration to every young person who is trying to achieve something of value despite the opposition of society.

As Irene Beale has written, Eliza is an antiwar book. We feel it is that and more. It is with pride and pleasure that Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace presents Eliza to today’s young adults.
